In recognition of Gold Star Mother’s Day, VFW Post 3615 paused to honor those local mothers who have lost a son or daughter in the service of the U.S. Armed Forces. The Gold Star is a symbol of a loved one lost in combat and Gold Star Mother’s Day is observed on the last Sunday in September. On behalf of our local veterans, VFW Senior Vice Commander Tom Boniol presented each mother with a pot-plant of lillies and a gift certificate to Log Cabin while visiting them over the weekend. Boniol is seen with Gail Lindsey (left) and Jill Puckett at each of their homes.
