Cedar Creek pitcher Brooks Auger got the Cougars’ 2020 baseball season off to a strong start Tuesday as he hurled a no-hitter in a 12-1 home win over Jonesboro-Hodge.

There’s nothing like starting a season strong.

Senior Brooks Auger and Cedar Creek did just that Tuesday evening as the Cougars’ pitcher threw a no-hitter in a 12-1 win over Jonesboro-Hodge to open the 2020 baseball season.

Cedar Creek jumped on top early, plating five runs in the first inning on an error, a single by Jared Miller, a walk by Corbin Johnson, a walk by Christian Norris, and a groundout by Brady Menzina.

On the mound for the Cougars, Auger gave up one unearned run with 12 strikeouts and a walk.

Menzina went 2-for-3 at the plate with a double, and Jared Miller had three runs batted in to pace the Cougars offensively.
