Mollie Jeanette Oliver Tubbs

Mollie Jeanette Oliver Tubbs was born in Bernice, on September 21, 1937, and peacefully went home to be with the Lord on July 3, 2022. with her family by her side.

Jeanette was an avid tennis player whose accomplishments include being a 12-time Senior Olympian, 12-time World Games medalist, a #1 USTA National Ranking in Women’s Doubles age 75 and ranked #1 in the state of Texas.

Her passion for tennis continued to shine through her students as she coached tennis at Ouachita Christian School and April Sound Country Club.

Jeanette is preceded in death by her father Enis Oliver; her mother, Josie Tabor; and brother, Bill Tabor.

Her survivors include the love of her life for 68 years, Jimmy Tubbs; her children, Cheryl Tessitore (Ted) Spring, Texas, Kathy Anderson (Bob) Montgomery, Texas, Scott Tubbs (Lillian) Morris Chapel, Tennessee, Karla Young (Bill) Beaumont, Texas, brothers, Bobby Joe Oliver of Bernice, and Paxton Oliver of West Monroe; and sister June Cantrell (Randy) of Shreveport.

One of her greatest accomplishments was being a grandmother to 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and the many kids who called her Tubbsy and considered her their grandmother.

The family would like to thank the many staff at MD Anderson as well as the staff at Heart-to-Heart Hospice for the loving care of our mom.

There will be a celebration of life at First Baptist Bernice on July 16, 2022. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m.with a service at 11, with Pastor Michael McIntosh officiating.
