A Celebration of Life for Elton J. “Pete” Larance, Jr., 75, of Ruston, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 13 in the Chapel of Temple Baptist Church in Ruston under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Dr. Reggie Bridges and the Rev. Dale Oden will officiate.

Pete was born on Nov. 12, 1943, in Lincoln Parish and passed away on June 9, 2019, in Ruston.

Pete was a member of Temple Baptist, Squire Creek Country Club, and the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Dept. S.C.O.P. Unit. He worked for many years as a finance and insurance manager in automotive sales. Pete enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, and traveling. He was an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints. He could also often be seen in the stands with his wife cheering on his beloved Bulldogs!

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Elton J. “Patch” and Laurice Andrews Larance.

Left to cherish Pete’s memory is his wife of almost 53 years, Darene Larance; Children: Laryssa “Lary” Larance Leitz and husband Bobby Leitz of Houston, Patrick Larance and wife Erin Black Larance of Bossier City, LA; grandchildren: Beaux Leitz (Taylor Anderson), Lacey Leitz (Grant Gossett), Meghan Leitz McLeod (Jon McLeod); great grandchildren: Ayden, Brooke, Rylee, Kenzie, and Cooper; sisters: Patsy Larance Fleniken and husband Dennis Fleniken of Russellville, AR, and Virginia “Ginny” Larance Love and husband Jack Love of Ruston; and multiple nieces, nephews and close friends.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service on Thursday, June 13 at Temple Baptist.
