Good citizens add to nation’s strength

It seems all too often that Louisiana ranks near the bottom of lists about good things, or high on lists about bad things.

But one of the latest rankings released concerning Louisiana residents is downright un-American.

That’s the way the Daily Leader feels about a recent survey conducted by the nonprofit, nonpartisan Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation. That survey ranked Louisiana last in state residents being able to answer questions that appear on United States citizenship tests.

It’s nothing to be proud of.
