Swedie W. Rutledge was born to Ollie and Lora Weary on January 24,1925 in Mississippi. She was the second daughter to be born to Ollie and Lora. While in Mississippi, Swedie went to elementary school and completed four years of high school at the Marion County Training School in columbia , Mississippi. Upon her graduartion from Marion County Training School, she attended Southern University at Baton Rouge, La, and earned a B.S.

Judith Elizabeth Talbert Perritt
“And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment.” Philippians 1:9
On the day of her birth, March 3, 1922, at the Oaks Plantation in Keatchie, LA, Judith's grandmother picked up a pencil and marked this verse in her Bible with an “X” and declared it, “Judith's verse” at the bottom of that same page. This was her life verse, the one that was prayed over her, and her love did indeed abound.

Colonel (Ret.) Jack N. Humphries was born on May 25, 1935 in Oak Grove, LA. Mr. Humphries died December 6, 2017 at Northern Louisiana Medical Center in Ruston after a brief illness. His visitation will be at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston on Friday, December 8, 2017 from 5-7 PM. The funeral services will be on December 9 at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Ruston. A coffee hour will begin at 9:00 AM with the funeral service to follow at 10:00 AM.

Funeral services for Mrs. Johnnie Faye Goolsby, age 85 of Ruston, will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Rock Corner Baptist Church near Dubach with Rev. Larry Bullock officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Corner Cemetery under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.

Eugene James Scray Jr., 87, of Campton, New Hampshire, passed away on Sunday December 3, 2017, at home in Campton, New Hampshire with his loving wife, Patricia Webster Scray and his son at his side. Eugene was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on March 24, 1930, to Eugene and Anna (Baumeister) Scray. Eugene was raised and attended school in Bound Brook, New Jersey.

Jacquie Tuck


Memorial services for Jacquie Tuck, 60, of Ruston, will be held on at 3:00 PM on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Ruston. Visitation will be on Sunday, from 2PM until the service at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.
Jacquie was born on December 9, 1956 in Dallas, TX to Samuel and Micheline Tuck, and passed away on November 30, 2017 after a brief illness.
Jacquie was a graduate of Louisiana Tech University. She began her teaching career of over 27 years in California before returning to teach at Arcadia Jr. High.

Bill Shaw (b. 19 June 1940), son of Leslie and Julia Shaw of Ruston, La., grudgingly departed life on 27 October 2017 with no childish fantasies of an afterlife. Bill married the love-of-his-life Monica Gail Johnson on January 29, 1966 in minus 34 degree weather, DeSmet, S.D. They met in 1963 as soda-jerks at Old Faithful, Yellowstone

George Antal Grozdits

George Antal Grozdits was born in Balmazújváros, Hungary on 6 February, 1936. He passed peacefully in his sleep in Somerset, Kentucky on 20 November, 2017. He leaves behind his wife, Judy Eames Grozdits and his son, Gregory George Grozdits. He grew up in Hungary and was admitted to the prestigious Forest Academy in Sopron, Hungary. In 1956, as the Soviet tanks rolled on the streets of Budapest, the entire Academy in Sopron: professors, wives, children, students and janitors walked across the border into Austria in protest. The University of British Columbia, Canada, offered asylum.
