Children across the parish engaged in the inaugural All About Boats STEM Camp currently hosted by the Lincoln Parish STEM Center. The camp began with participants exploring boat design using clay and foil to see which shape would hold the most “penny passengers.” Above, Jackson Smith, Cason Cavin and Joshua Weiss work on the design of their foil boat while below, Carley Carter counts the number of pennies her boat will hold. As part of the camp, teams will design and create a cardboard boat that will be launched in the Louisiana Tech University Natatorium and paddled across the pool with at least one passenger aboard. The summer STEM camp series will wrap up the last week of July. Leader photos by Cathi Cox-Boniol
