On the heels of its largest fundraising event, the Friends of the Ruston Skatepark has acquired another major boost toward meeting its financial goals to build the park.

Hillcrest Elementary School rolled out the red carpet to celebrate Coordinating Teacher Kelli Colvin’s retirement after 30 years in education, 26 of them at Hillcrest. Below left, Lincoln Parish Superintendent Ricky Durrett was on hand to present Colvin with a plaque and special certificate commemorating the milestone event.
