I think right now community leaders and even regional partners see Ruston as this little treasure. Almost the best kept secret and not just for North Louisiana but for Louisiana in general. I think in 30 years, no part of our economy is a secret anymore. In 30 years, we are probably one of the most well-known, strategically-placed cities along the growing I-20 corridor that is turning heads but also turning on its head various statistics which other suburban communities are trying to fight against.
I think we can all agree that our summers are some of the hottest days in history. This just isn’t the same kind of heat we played in for hours as a kid. Heat waves have smothered the Northern Hemisphere with temperatures reaching well over 100 degrees Fahrenheit in multiple continents.
Funeral services for Mary Glynn Winham, 96 of Ruston, were held Thursday, June 6, 2024, at 11 a.m., at New Prospect Baptist Church with Dr. Chris Craig officiating.
