More on the environment — an old friend stopped by to see me the other day, and he was telling me how he told his wife that our parish is the “trashiest parish” around. In Ruston we are blessed to have regular trash pickup and recycling (for a nominal fee), but the people out in our Parish have to rely on using the dumpster areas for their trash. These dumpster areas are sometimes so unsightly (“gross” to put it bluntly) that they become a health hazard — attracting all kinds of varmints — some even human.
