A trio of Louisiana Tech rookies earned awards Tuesday as Lauren Menzina, Kylie Neel and Tristin Court were all named to the Conference USA all-Freshman Team.

The awards were voted on by the 12 head coaches in the league.

Menzina earned her spot on the 11-person team after recording a mark of 4-1 in the circle with a 3.33 earned run average.

The Ruston native and former Cedar Creek High School prep star made 11 appearances and seven starts while logging 40.0 innings with two complete games. She picked up wins against C-USA foes UAB, Southern Miss and UTEP, including a complete-game shutout against the Miners.

Neel was tabbed to the all-Freshman Team after making 32 starts for Tech, and registering a .283 batting average with 32 hits, including eight doubles and two home runs. The Richmond, Texas, native scored 13 runs and drove in 11 while recording eight multi-hit games – the second most on the team. She hit both of her home runs in the series win at UTSA in early April.

While making 33 starts this year, Court batted .265 with 26 hits, four doubles, two triples and two home runs. She scored 12 runs and registered 20 RBI, the second most on the team.
