GRAMBLING — Grambling State University Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics, Trayvean Scott, announced the addition of Brian Howard as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Communications.

Howard, who returns back to Grambling State University after two years at Florida A&M University, will also serve GSU in a dual role position as the assistant director in university communications.

“We are extremely thrilled to have Brian Howard back at Grambling State,” Scott said. “He brings a lot of experience from his time previously here, as well as his time working at multiple Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). He is a huge asset to the team we are assembling and we look forward to having him back at The G.”

Howard has spent the previous 10 years working at HBCUs with stops at Lincoln University (Pa.), the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) office, Alabama State, Grambling State and Florida A&M.

After graduating in 1995 from Firestone High School in Akron, Ohio, Howard attended NCAA Division II Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio. During his time at Ashland, Howard was named Outstanding Sophomore of the Year in Radio.
