Dunkin’ Dogs add more firepower to backcourt with signing of Lamar transfer

Wednesday, April 7, 2021

Louisiana Tech head coach Eric Konkol announced another new addition on Monday as Lamar transfer Kasen Harrison signed a financial aid agreement to join the Bulldogs in 2021-22.

Harrison, a 6-foot-1 guard, spent his freshman year with the Cardinals and averaged 13.1 points per game while shooting 48% from the field, 48% from beyond the arc and 81% from the foul line.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kasen to the LA Tech Family!” Konkol said.

“Kasen is a skilled and clever playmaking guard. He plays with an attacking mentality, is ambidextrous and penetrates the paint with the dribble extremely well. He finishes around the basket with either hand and is an efficient shooter from midrange and from beyond the arc.

“Kasen has a strong work ethic and fits our style both offensively and defensively. He comes from a terrific family and has many relatives in the Shreve port area.”

Harrison made 20 starts for Lamar and ended up being their second leading scorer, scoring in double figures 18 times (including 11 of the last 12 games).

He also registered two 20-point scoring performances, including a career-high 24 against Nicholls State while shooting 7-of-13 from the field and a perfect 10-of-10 from the free throw line.

“I chose Louisiana Tech because it felt like family and it has a strong winning culture,” Harrison said.

The Beaumont, Texas native anchored the Cardinals with a team-high 100 assists and was second on the squad with 37 steals. He provides more firepower in the backcourt, joining recent Incarnate Word transfer Keaston Willis.
