Willis Carroll Colvin, “Jimmy,” of Ruston passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at the age of 87.

He was born to the late Stone and Ida Colvin on January 19, 1933.Jimmy grew up in Vienna and attended Ruston High School.

He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1951 and then attended Louisiana Tech University upon his return.

He was employed with Lincoln General Hospital for 30 years as Plant Operations Director. He also retired from Lincoln Parish School Board after serving as a school bus driver for 30 years. After retiring, he loved traveling with his wife as a member of The Caney Lake Sam’s RV Club.

Jimmy married Nan Crawley Colvin in 1951. They were married for 69 years. Jimmy was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he especially enjoyed his men’s Sunday school class. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Nan Crawley Colvin of Ruston, his daughters Kaye Rabb of Ruston, Julie Bailey and husband Bob of Ruston, Robbie Barrett of Monroe and special daughter, Robin Nicholson, of Houston, TX; grandchildren Eric Williamson, Chris Wood, Dylan Barrett, Natalie Rabb, Chanel Perritt and grand-daughter-in-law Trish Williamson; five great grandchildren. He also leaves behind many loving friends and relatives.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Baxter Colvin and Emmett Colvin, and beloved grandson, Darick Williamson.

The family would like to thank Princeton Place Nursing Home and Compassus Hospice for the loving care given in the last weeks of his life.

A graveside service was held Saturday, December 12, in the Vienna Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.
