Renee Chesnier Duchesne Cowles, 69, passed away suddenly on December 8, 2021. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Patrick Allen Cowles, her two sons, Jacques Chesnier Tassin, and Alex Chesnier Tassin, their wives, Carly and Corrine, granddaughter Macie, grandson Jackson.

She was soon to become a grandmother again, as her daughter-in-law, Corrine, is expecting baby Claire’s arrival any day now. She will be remembered by her brother Roderick Chesnier Duchesne II, her sister-in-law, Linda, nieces Rae Chesnier Russel, Aimee Chesnier Barr, and nephew Roderick “Rick” Chesnier Duchesne III. Renee was born on March 25, 1952, in Ruston Louisiana.

She is a graduate from Louisiana Tech University. She started her educational career in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was the beloved Choir Director at Copperas Cove Junior High and Highschool for seven years. She then moved to the Permian Basin and worked for MISD at Fannin Elementary and Washington Elementary, teaching fine arts. She loved teaching and taught for a cumulative of 38 years.

Renee also enjoyed cross-stitching, sewing, and crafts. She loved dogs and is survived by her beloved dog Echo. She also thoroughly enjoyed watching LSU football. Renee loved to cook and was an expert on preparing southern foods.

Renee was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and aunt. She will be greatly missed.

Viewing will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, December 13, 2021, at Willowbrook Funeral Home, 1311 W. Florida Ave., Midland, Texas.

Family will receive friends on Monday, December 13, 2021, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Willowbrook Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4616 N. Big Spring St., Midland, Texas. Arrangements are entrusted to Willowbrook Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Midland.
