Patricia Jones Doughty

Patricia Jones Doughty, 80, of Bossier City, passed away on January 5, 2023 after a long battle with Parkinson’s.

She was born in May 17, 1942, to Charlie and Louise Jones in Ruston.

After graduating from Ruston High School in 1960, she went on to receive her bachelor’s degree in Education from Louisiana Tech University.

During college Patricia worked at Southwest Gas and upon graduation she eventually moved to Bossier City and started a successful manufacturing company, Liberia Mfg. with her first husband, where they made drapery and bedspreads for the mobile home and hotel/motel industries. They had one daughter together, Laundi Hanson Williams.

Patricia managed the company until her retirement in 2006.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Bossier City where she met her second husband Charles Doughty. They were married in December of 1980.

Patricia loved to travel, appreciated art, read intently, and enjoyed playing with her grandchildren.

Her sense of humor, quick wit, attention to detail, and easy going nature will be greatly missed.

She will also always be remembered for her ability to handle life’s challenges with grace and dignity.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Louise Jones.

She is survived by her husband Charles Doughty; daughter, Laundi Williams and husband Stephen of Choudrant and children, Jordan and wife Alycia of Benton, son Cade and daughter Reagan; step- daughter, Nora McTague of Redwood Meadows, Alberta, Canada; stepson, Eddie of Houston and wife Milly and children Jaime Delafield of Katy, Texas and wife Kelly, Michael and Kathryn both of Houston; step-daughter, Carolyn Schwartz of Bossier City and husband Bill with children Audrey Schmolke of Baton Rouge and husband Erick, Lindsey Waller Garrett of Minden, and Megan Pulley of Benton with husband Thomas; stepson, Steven of McMinnville, Oregon and wife Barbara with children Patrick of Lynwood, Washington and wife Diana, Samantha Doerge of Carlton, Oregon and husband Arild; brother, Frank Jones of Birmingham, Alabama and son Carl; brother, Lonny Jones of Baton Rouge and wife Joyce with daughter Charlene Scichowski of Baton Rouge; as well as 11 great-grandchildren.
