Orrin Sanford “Rob” Robinson Jr., 85, of Pine Bluff, AR, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2019. He was born Jan. 28, 1934, in Camden, Arkansas, and was a son of Orrin S. Robinson, Sr. and Clarice Ritchey Robinson. Rob grew up in Ruston, Louisiana, graduated from Western Military Academy in Alton, Illinois, and served in the United States Army.

Rob received his Bachelor of Science from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston and Master of Science in Microbiology from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He worked at the Pine Bluff Arsenal and retired from the National CenterforToxicological Research in Jefferson, AR.

Rob met Paula Kay Torbert in junior high school in Ruston, and the two were married in 1955, after Paula graduated from high school and while Rob was in the Army. They had four children and lived most of their lives in Pine Bluff. Paula died in 2002. They were longtime members of Grace Episcopal Church.

Rob loved fishing, duck hunting and gardening. A woodcrafter, he made his own duck calls and decoys, as well as fishing lures. There were many annual fishing reunions with his family, and a fair share of adventures. He was a past-president of the Jefferson Wildlife Association, and in his later years he became an avid ballroom dancer. Rob and Paula also loved and cared for many rescued dogs.

In addition to his wife, Rob was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lucy McReynolds, Agnes Gervais and Clarice Woodley; and his brother, Mark Robinson.

Rob is survived by his children, Katherine Neale (Miles), Julie Taub (Marc), Jamie Robinson, and David Robinson (Tamara); grandchildren, Joseph Taub (Stephanie), Lauren Robinson, and Molly Robinson; great-grandson, Emmanuel Taub; sister, Ann Robinson Faulk; brothers, John Robinson, James Robinson (Monique) and Bill Robinson (Elaine); and many nieces, nephews and other l oved ones.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019, at Grace Episcopal Church. Burial will follow at 2:45 p.m. in at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Ruston. Services are under the direction of Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services.

Visitation will be held Thursday, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019, in the parish hall at the church.
