Mary Joanne Campbell Thompson

Mary Joanne Campbell Thompson, 88, of El Dorado, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2022, at Ruston Regional Specialty Hospital in Ruston.

Born December 14, 1933, in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Edwin Campbell and Helen Marie Miller Campbell. She was a graduate of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Hamilton, Ohio and had several career interests; nursing, teaching nursing, real estate sales and owning/operating a small boutique shop and was a member of the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.

Preceding her in death are her parents, husband Fred Thompson and son Bob Thompson.

Survivors include one brother, J. Timothy Campbell of Xenia, Ohio; two sons, Fred Thompson and his wife Jennifer of Ruston; and son, Mark Thompson and his wife Lucy of Ruston; twelve grandchildren, Michael Thompson and wife Kylie Farrar Thompson, Clayton Thompson, Robert Thompson and wife Sarah Dame Thompson, Zachary Thompson, Leslie Thompson Caldwell and husband Cameron Caldwell, Joseph Blakesley, John Blakesley, Sonia Bustos and Daniel Rocha; two great-grandchildren, Lane Caldwell and Reid Caldwell and numerous nephews and nieces.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., July 15, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, El Dorado with Father Edward D’Almeida officiating.

Visitation will be on July 14, 2022, from 5-7 p.m. at Young’s Funeral Directors.
