Mary Ellen Brown Crain, 84 of Rocky Branch, LA, went to her heavenly home surrounded by her three loving daughters Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Oakwoods Nursing HomeinMerRouge,LA.

Mrs. Mary was known for her cooking skills and enjoyed her 25 years at Rocky Branch Elementary School cooking for all of her kids! She also enjoyed fishing, riding four wheelers and going to the hunting camp with her sister-in-laws and brothers-in-law before Alzheimers took control of her mind and body. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and her husband of 63 years until he passed away last year. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and sister-in-law and will be missed by so many.

Mrs. Crain was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Crain, daughter, Lori Kilcrease and spouse Wayne Kilcrease, a son-in-law, Roy Burford, her parents, Marshall and Dorothy Brown, mother-inlaw and father-in-law, Jesse and Carrie Crain, and brother-in-law Sedric Crain.

She is survived by three daughters Millie Burford of Rocky Branch, Sarah Armstrong (Kenny) of Rocky Branch and Patsy Kilcrease (Jerry) of Rocky Branch. Three granddaughters Chrissie Wilkes, Calhoun, Shae Gooden (Robbie), Rocky Branch, Amy Stokes (Daniel), Farmerville. Two great grandsons, Noah Reppond and Landen Gooden and three great grandaughters, Gracie Stokes, Paytyn Stokes and Lori Shyann Gooden. One brother, Dean Brown (Tommye) West Monroe and one sister, Johnnie Traxler (Terry) Calhoun. Five loving brother and sister-inlaws who she loved very much. Numerous nieces and nephews. One very special friend who she considered a daughter, her next door neighbor Debbie Finkbeiner.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, July 15,at Rocky Branch Baptist Church and funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, with the Rev. Paul Carter and Rev. Terry Traxler officiating. Interment will be at Rocky Branch Cemetery in Rocky Branch, LA, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Farmerville, LA.

Pallbearers will be nephews Lee Traxler, David Crain, Shannon Pilgreen, Tim Norman and friends Kris Finkbeiner and Carey Butler.

Honorary pallbearers will be her brotherin-laws Sammy Crain, Jerry Crain, Devain Crain, Lindon Crain, Julian Crain and special friends Wayne Donaldson and Mike Finkbeiner.

Special thanks go out to Oakwoods Nursing Home, Some very special nurses and aids and Dr. Allen Spires of Mer Rouge for the wonderful care and love shown to our Mom for the last eight years.

She will missed by so many family member and friends but she is rejoicing in heaven with our Dad and Sister and all of her other family and friends.
