Graveside services for Mary Ann Napper Cole, age 92, of Alexandria — formerly of Simsboro — will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 5, 2022, at Simsboro City Cemetery with Rev. Don Duplechian officiating, under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.

Mary Ann was born August 22, 1929, to Blanche and Jeff Napper. She passed away May 27, 2022, in Alexandria. Mary Ann, affectionately known as “Maw-Maw,” was greatly loved for her cooking, especially her delicious sweets like her banana pudding and chocolate cake.

Her family will cherish many fond memories of holiday celebrations with her goodies and fishing trips to Lake Louie. Mary Ann was a lifelong resident of Simsboro and was a lifelong member of Simsboro First Baptist Church, where she arranged florals for Sunday service.

She was a graduate of Simsboro High School and was a very active in the Alumni Association.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Sanford “Pete” Cole; parents, Blanche and Jeff Napper; two brothers, Ben Napper and Louie Napper; and stepfather, Carl Stepro.

Mary Ann is survived by her two daughters, Sandra and husband Eugene J. Sues, of Boyce and Shannon and husband Clint Duplechian, of Alexandria; seven grandchildren, Brandon Sues and wife Jennifer of Alexandria, Tiffany and husband Alex Pucheu of Baton Rouge, Brock Sues of Boyce, Billy Robins of Los Angeles, California, Ben Robins of Los Angeles, California, Beckett Duplechian of Alexandria, and Harper Duplechian of Alexandira; five greatgrandchildren, Peyton and husband Billy Tillman of New York, Savannah Sues of Baton Rouge, Jackson Sues of Alexandria, Henry Sues of Alexandria, and Berklee Pucheu of Baton Rouge.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Canterbury House staff and residents for their care and kindness for the past eight years.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Sues, Brock Sues, Billy Robins, Ben Robins, Beckett Duplechian, and Alex Pucheu.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Simsboro First Baptist Church or to the Simsboro High School Alumni Association.

Visitation will be 12:30-1:30 p.m., Sunday, June 5, 2022, at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Ruston.
