Martha Lynn Thompson Sadler

Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Lynn Thompson Sadler, age 82, of Choudrant,will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, October 21, 2022, at Alabama Presbyterian Church in Choudrant with her son Rev. Donald Sadler and Rev. Allison Moody officiating.

Burial will follow in the Sibley Cemetery in Choudrant under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston. Martha was born December 18, 1939, to Mattie and Mac Thompson in Indian Village, and she passed away October 17, 2022, in Choudrant. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and Christian. Martha was married to her husband Jerry Dean Sadler for 56 years. She was a member of both the Alabama Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Woman.

Martha loved cooking, traveling, needle pointing, working in her flowers and, most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She was known for delicious dumplings, pimento cheese, banana pudding and pecan pies. Martha was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother Felton Thompson; sister Nelda Ruby; and grandson Derek Holbron.

Martha is survived by her sons, Bryan Dean Sadler and wife Kathy of West Monroe, Jeffery Allen Sadler and wife Michelle of Richmond, Texas, Donald Ken Sadler and wife Carol of Elizabethtown, North Carolina, and Ronald Lynn Sadler and wife Stacie of Denham Springs; daughter, Jennifer Jan Sadler and husband Jamie Smith of Downsville; grandchildren, Dane, Brittany, Tyler, Heath, Brooke, Hannah, Dean, Tristen, Grace, James, Miranda, Dustin, Danielle, Zachary and Crystal; great- grandchildren, Tyler, Chelsea, Jaidyn, Sawyer, Kailee, Conner, Kylie and Carter; siblings, Brenda Brown of Choudrant, Glenda Dugdale of Choudrant and Kenneth Thompson of Henderson, Texas; sister- in- law Pat Thompson of Monroe; brother-in-law JB Ruby of Buffalo, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be four of her grandsons, Heath Sadler, Dean Smith, Tristen Sadler and James Sadler, as well as three of her grandsonin- laws, Jordan Powell, Tony Merritt and Trey McDougle. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Taylor and Dustin Sellers.

The family would like to give special thanks to Kim Frazier Roberson with Allegiance Home Hospice.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, October 20, 2022, at Alabama Presbyterian Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
