Jerry Luginbill

Jerry Lester “Budhop” Luginbill was born Sept 25, 1943 in Monroe to Orlie Lester and Martha Hamilton Luginbill. He passed peacefully September 28, 2021, in Jonesboro.

A memorial service will be held October 7 2021, at 1 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Home in West Monroe. Jerry lived in Choudrant for many years before moving to Caddo Mills, Texas, to be with his daughter and son-in-law after a decline in health.

He was a truck driver for most of his life but his passion was working on fast, loud cars. He could fix anything and he loved getting his hands dirty. His greatest joy was watching his kids and grandkids fix things, and he wanted to be right in the middle of it all. He loved his family and friends dearly and he was fiercely loyal to those he loved. He had a heart of gold and was as stubborn as a mule.

He told the best stories and he loved to make you laugh.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by one sister, Martha Ann Murphy of Quitman; one brother, Larry “Butch” Luginbill of Eunice; son, Jeremy Luginbill and wife Misty of Dubach; daughter, Mary Ann Luginbill Wheeler and husband Rick of Caddo Mills, Texas; son, John Luginbill of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Brandon, Jared, Sierra and Brayden; and a host of family and friends.

Honorary pallbearers are Russell Collins, Robert Minnifield, Ozzie Manning, Brad Slaton, Darrell Slaton, Skid Adams, Landon Giesen, and Brandon Luginbill.
