I checked on my huckleberry bushes growing in my yard and they’re loaded with some beginning to ripen. Memories of these little jewels being converted into the most delectable pies you’ll ever eat, sent me searching for an article I wrote three years ago. I thought it timely to share it again this week.)

Look up “huckleberry” on the web and you’ll see what know-everything Wikipedia has to say … “The name ‘huckleberry’ is a North American variation of the English dialectal name variously called ‘hurtleberry’ or ‘whortleberry.’”
