Three Lincoln Parish public schools took a non-political stance Wednesday by hosting several events commemorating the 17 lives lost during the Feb. 14 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

Choudrant High School hosted a prayer vigil like the annual “See You at the Pole” event before classes began, while Ruston High School and Simsboro School held a 17-seconds of silence during morning announcements for reflection in honor of the number of lives lost.
