GSU men’s hoops deserves applause

It worked for the Grambling State football team. Now it appears GSU head men’s basketball coach Donte Jackson has stolen a page out of head football coach Broderick Fobbs’ playbook.

After the GSU football team suffered back-to-back one-win seasons in 2012 and 2013, the university hired Fobbs, who promptly guided the Tigers to a 7-5 finish in 2014 before guiding to his Tigers to three straight appearances in the SWAC Championship game, winning the last two league championships.

This season, Jackson and his Tigers have turned in a remarkable turnaround of their own.
