Funeral services for Robert Michael Elliott, 37, of Laran, were held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 17, 2019, at Hopewell Baptist Church, in Laran, with Bro. Dewayne Ramsey and Bro. David Martin officiating. Interment followed in the Laran Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Mr. Elliott went to his heavenly home on May 14, 2019. Michael was a dedicated servant to our Lord and was faithful as a teacher and leader at Hopewell Baptist Church. He loved to hunt and fish and was a faithful Cubs fan his entire life. Michael loved his job as an educator in the Union Parish School System, and had a special bond with each student he taught. He was gentle, but firm with the children and young adults in his life. Michael was a loving son, brother, husband and father.

Mr. Elliott was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Donald & Ethel Stone; grandparents, Bobby Cook, J.R. Oakes and Edward Elliott; brotherin-law, Jeremy Moore; uncle, Steven Elliott; and aunt, Lonie Kay.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 11 years, Candace CranfordElliott;daughter, Lorelai Faith Elliott; parents, Robert & Kim Elliott; sister, Morgan Moore; nephew, Brock Moore; niece, Jolie Moore; paternal grandparent, Marilyn Kinman; maternal grandparent, Juanita Cook Oakes; father and mother-in-law, Bill & Charlotte Cranford; brothers-in-law, Brent Cranford, and his children, Ashlea (Caine) Pylant & son, Crew, McKenzie Cranford & Brady Cranford, Shane Cranford and his children, Jace Cranford, Dylan Cranford, Aaron Cranford & Grace Cranford; and many other friends and family.

Pallbearers were Colby Bennett, Tyler Banks, Kyle Livingston, Layne Lawson, Dylan Horton and Ryan Smith.

Honorary pallbearers were members of SpearsvilleHighSchool Baseball that were coached by Michael.

Visitation was from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Hopewell Baptist Church.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the nurses of Compassus Hospice and the staff of Reeves Memorial Medical Center.
