Local veterans receive quilts

A cool chill ran through the air as dozens of people gathered at the flag pole in front of the Northern Louisiana Medical Center Thursday.

But, it didn’t seem to bother the 13 local veterans seated in the front row.

These men and women came to be honored during the America’s Heroes Presentation held by The Senior Circle Quilters, whose mission it is to “present heirloom quilts once a year, in November around Veterans Day, to local veterans who have served our country so bravely and so proudly,” according to Tami Davis, senior circle advisor for the hospital.
