Haddox, Burkhalter exchange vows at The Pond

Chandler Grace Haddox and David Michael Burkhalter, both of Ruston, exchanged wedding vows at 5 p.m. Nov. 4 at The Pond in Douglas.

The bride is the daughter of Lee Jay and Sharon Haddox, of Ruston. She is the granddaughter of Doug and Debbie Haddox, of Ruston; Guy and Faye Barnes, of Ruston; and the late Billy and Lola Pearl Chandler.

The groom is the son of Davy and Suzanne Burkhalter, of Monroe. He is the grandson of Charles McLean, of Dallas; Nita and Stephen Michand, of Huntsville, Alabama; and the late Orum and Renna Burkhalter.

The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Rolly Walker.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a wedding gown featuring a dramatic deep-V neckline that gives way to tiers of delicate lace and a veil of ivory, with champagne lining underneath. She carried a bouquet of wildflowers, featuring fern, eucalyptus and thistle.

Serving as Maid of Honor was Emma Haddox, of Ruston.

Matrol of Honor was Sharon Haddox.

Bridesmaids were Alex Albritton, of Monroe; Susan Odom, of Choudrant; Lindsey Gordon, of West Monroe; Lexi Burkhalter, of Boston, Massachusetts; and Arielle Burkhalter, of Baton Rouge.

Serving as best man was David Burkhalter, of Ruston. Groomsmen were Ayres Burkhalter, of Monroe; Jake Haddox, of Ruston; Jeffrey Gordon, of West Monroe; Harrison Haley, of West Monroe; Jon White, of Ruston; and Dan Gressett, of Ruston.

Bridesmaids dresses were a light taupe with various styles of the bridesmaid’s choice. They carried bundles of seeded eucalyptus.

Flower girls for the wedding were Evie Carnahan, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; Carson Perot, of Ruston; and Sophie and Savannah Coyle, of Ruston.

Ring bearer for the wedding was Luke Gordon, of West Monroe.

Other participants were Barnes Carnahan, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, and Camille Smith, of Ruston, as candle lighters.

Music was provided by Ann Sorensen and Karl Puljak, with a special performance by Emily Compton.

A rehearsal dinner was held Nov. 3 at Toma Lodge in Ruston, and was hosted by the groom’s mother and father.

The couple plan to make their home in Ruston after their honeymoon to Disney World.

Prior to their wedding date Chandler and David were honored with showers by family and friends.

On Sep. 23, a couples shower was held at Toma Lodge. The shower was hosted by Robin Thomas, Lance Leihr, Susan and Keith Odom, Jimmie and Michael Mayzell, Stephanie and Rusty Welch, Tommy and Stephanie Seismore, Jackie and Toby White, Dan and Jamie Gressett, LeAnn Patterson, Clay and Christie Hipp, Gail and Erskine Lindsey, Brooke and Michael Hill, and Judy Harris.

On Oct. 1, a tea shower was hosted by Sandra Hancock, Amy Galli, Anna Hall, and Ann Marie Hancock at the residence of Sandra Hancock.

A second tea shower was held at Meadows manor on Oct. 7, 2017, and was hosted by Suzanne Tyler, Helene Shaw, Jessie Bryan, Jane Tatum, Tammy Patterson, Haley Perot, Olivia Gordon.

Michelle and Lilla Jimmerson hosted a brunch at Squire Creek on Oct. 21, 2017.

A luncheon to honor the bridesmaids was held Nov. 3 at Meadows Manor in Ruston, given by Faye Barnes, Debbie Haddox, Adrianne Smith, Ainslee Barnes and Holly Coyle. Following the luncheon was a lingerie shower hosted by Alexandra Albritton.
