Neely, Taylor celebrate wedding

Preslie Rose Neely, of Merryville, Louisiana, and Aaron Christopher Taylor, of Choudrant, were united in holy matrimony during a 6 p.m. ceremony on Sept. 2 at Sainte Terre in Benton.

Steven Blaney officiated the double ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Vince and Kristi Neely, of Merryville. She is the granddaughter of Larry and Donita Carroll, of Merryville; Earseal Veuleman, of Deridder; and Glen and Norma Neely, of Merryville.

The bride is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She is employed at Origin Bank in Ruston.

The groom is the son of Mark A. and Amy Taylor, of Choudrant. He is the grandson of James H. and Mary Dugdale, of Choudrant; Kate Pesnell, of Choudrant; and Ben Taylor, of Choudrant.

The groom is attending Louisiana Tech University pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Cyber Engineering with a minor in Mathematics.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents.

She wore an Allure Bridals ball gown with shining satin, sitting beneath an overlay of English net and luxurious lace.

It had a sweetheart neckline and scoop back. The floor-length skirt had a scalloped hem. It featured delicate lace, swatches of English net, and covered buttons.

To complete the look, the bride wore a cathedral veil. She carried a flowing bouquet of mixed eucalyptus and greenery with pops of burgundy garden roses and astilbe, dusty rose veronica with fragrant white and cream roses, tucks of white spray stock, tied in off-white satin with long streamers.

Serving as matron of honor was Sabra Parker, of Haughton. Robyn O’Neal, of Trophy Club, Texas, served as maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Callie Billingsley, of Henderson, Texas; Betsy Shively, of Quitman; Amber Hilburn, of Monroe; Kaitlyn Flieg, of Baton Rouge; and Maria Woodley, of Shreveport. Brynn Avery Beard, of Merryville, served as flower girl.

The bridesmaids wore maxi dresses with woven polyester that draped into a halter bodice with straps that looped through a keyhole at the neck and tied at the back. A pin tucked waistline flowed into a full skirt.

The dresses were dusty rose, pale peach, and dusty purple.

The bridesmaids’ bouquets were composed of mixed greenery and eucalyptus, white and cream garden roses with burgundy astilbe and dusty pink veronica intersperses.

Serving as best men were Luke Taylor, of Choudrant, and Nathan Taylor, of Fort Worth, Texas. Groomsmen were Dolan Dunnigan, of Tyler, Texas; Brandon Bryant, of Choudrant; Cody Patterson, of Benton; Justin Patterson, of Benton; and Denver Houghton, of Benton. Jacob Cruz Taylor, of Sulphur, served as ring bearer.

Serving as ushers were Lane Neely, of Merryville, and Alex Faucheux, of Choudrant.
Guest book attendants were Sarah Cruz, of Grapevine, Texas, and Emily Taylor, of Fort Worth, Texas.

The event designer was Hillary Moss.

The florist was Adcock Wedding and Event Florals of Benton. Photography was provided by Jaci Iles Photography.

The reception took place at Sainte Terre and was catered by Chef Holly Schreiber.

The groom’s cake was created by Jeanne Hine of Sweetie Cakes in Benton.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner on Sept. 1 at Sainte Terre. The event was catered by Chef Holly Schreiber.

Before the wedding, a number of celebrations were held in honor of the bride and groom.

A miscellaneous Sigma Kappa Shower was held in April at the Sigma Kappa Lodge in Ruston. Hostesses included Sabra Parker, Maria Woodley, Callie Billingsley, Betsy Shively and Kaitlyn Flieg.

An I Do BBQ was held on May 19 at Hideaway Park in Ruston. Cody Patterson and Molly Beth Duddy served as hosts.

A miscellaneous bridal shower was held on May 21 at First Baptist Church in Choudrant. Serving as hostesses were aunts and cousins of the groom.

A lingerie shower was held in July in Austin, Texas. Sabra Parker and Maria Woodley served as hostesses.

An engagement party was held on Aug. 5 at The Barracks in Deridder. Hostesses included Kristi Neely, Amber Taylor, Kelli Brooks and Holly Beard.

After a honeymoon in Cancun, the couple has made their home in Ruston.
