Locals reach out to evacuees

With thousands displaced in Hurricane Harvey’s wake, Lincoln Parish is doing its part to help neighbors in need.

Carlyn Harbour, general manager of Best Western Plus in Ruston, said this morning the hotel has opened its doors to Texas flood victims registered with the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Once evacuees register with FEMA they are allotted a room at a hotel for a certain amount of time, Harbour said.
