When your doctor comes into the room with the results of your blood work and all he can do is stare at it and say, “Hmm,” it may be time for you to get used to the idea that you may not be here forever. Once was when I found out I was a type II diabetic. The other was when I was told I needed a double bypass. Both gave me good excuse to mope around the house.
