Farmerville Gazette photo - Almost nine months ago, water was up to the windows in the D’Arbonne Diner, putting more than four feet of flood water in the restaurant when the lake reached a level of 88.91 feet. This photo was taken when the lake was at a level of 75.39 feet.

A storm system that moved into Union Parish early Monday had dumped three inches of rainfall across the parish by early Tuesday afternoon.

Bruce Hampton, president of the Bayou D’Arbonne Lake Watershed Commission, said the decision to allow water to move from the lake into Bayou D’Arbonne was made to allow the lake to stay at the level set before the draw down began in early September.
