The election is finally over. Or is it?

After Donald J. Trump was announced as the 45th President of the United States, a large portion of the country felt like their votes did not matter and began to call for the dismissal of the Electoral College.

This feeling stemmed from the fact that Hillary Clinton won the popular vote, but lost the EC.

Therefore, the legitimacy and the usefulness of the EC has come into question. Do we still need this institution to help us pick our leaders, or is it outdated and in need of an overhaul?
