A two-day rain delay didn’t prevent the Ruston Bearcats girls track and field team from taking the District 2-5A championship this week at L.J. “Hoss” Garrett Stadium.

Starting on Wednesday, the meet was finalized on Friday with the pole vault competition as Ruston totaled 133.5 points, edging past Natchitoches Central (129).

Alexandria (115), Ouachita Parish (73) West Monroe (59) and Pineville rounded out the girls’ competition.
