Grambling Middle School students celebrated the 25th anniversary of Red Ribbon Week with a ceremony during which they released red balloons.
Louisiana history
Mrs. Holmes’ Louisiana history classes are studying symbols, parishes and parish seats. While learning the symbols, one of our favorite activities was to learn and sing the state song, “You are My Sunshine.”
It is a requirement that all 64 parishes are learned. We learn them in groups of 10, starting in Caddo Parish and ending in Saint Bernard Parish. The Louisiana cuisine for the month is shrimp. We brought and shared recipes made with shrimp.
Now, we are traveling through Lincoln Parish and learning its history while focusing on LEAP practice activities.
