Many Lincoln Parish families will pass gifts out to family and friends throughout the holiday season.

Some families; however, may not have the opportunity to receive gifts this year for various reasons.

Fear not, Lincoln Parish residents will have the opportunity to make local children’s Christmases with the help of several toy drives in the area.

In collaboration with community members, businesses, churches and the Lincoln Parish Schools ACHIEVE program, a special toy drive will be held until Thursday at various locations.

Stuff Santa’s Sack toy drive placed toy boxes in several locations including Amazing Care Walk-In Clinic, Cheeburger Cheeburger, Clara’s Sweets & Healthy Treats, Green Clinic, Log Cabin, Northern Louisiana Medical Center, Origin Bank locations on Farmerville Highway, North Trenton Street and West Alabama Drive, Ponchatoulas and the Ruston Lincoln Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Lincoln Parish Schools ACHIEVE Coordinator Cathi Cox-Boniol said residents can drop off any donations, contributions or gifts to those locations.

Those gifts will be warehoused at Trinity United Methodist Church to give to area children at a later date.

In addition to Stuff Santa’s Sack, the American Bikers Active Toward Education of Louisiana’s North Central Chapter will host a Toy Run that requires a gift donation to ride. Registration starts at 9 a.m. and the ride begins at 11 a.m. Dec. 12 at South Parkway Church.
Toys collected from the run will also be warehoused Trinity.

Once the toys have been warehoused, those children adopted through the Junior Auxiliary Christmas Clearinghouse will be able to select toys for their families at noon Dec. 12.

After those children pick, other local children will be able to select gifts through collaboration with JA.

Through these wonderful contribution events, all Lincoln Parish children can have holidays worth remembering.

The Ruston Daily Leader commends these organizations for contributing their time and resources to make it possible for many children in our community to receive gifts.
