A $15 million sports complex is part of Ruston Mayor Ronny Walker’s Moving Ruston Forward proposal. This early rendering of the site shows softball and baseball fields (lavender), soccer fields (dark red), parking (red) and football fields (green).

Mayor Ronny Walker is proposing an $80 million package of citywide infrastructure maintenance and improvement projects that he said would allow Ruston to catch up to where it should be and prepare for the next 20 years.

The program includes street and drainage projects, water and sewer projects, a new animal control facility, bike trails, sidewalks and a sports complex.

The work would be partially funded by a new three-quarter-cent sales tax.

Revenue from the 20-year-tax would be dedicated to water, sewer and street work and the recreation complex, Walker said.
