I have vivid memories of taking class field trips to Poverty Point when I was in elementary school.

Friday many of those memories came surfacing back when we received a book in the Ruston Daily Leader mail titled “Poverty Point: Revealing The Forgotten City.”

As I thumbed through the book I remembered looking for arrowheads and talking about the Native Americans from our area.

I also recalled digging around at my grandparents’ house trying to find arrows.
