Grambling State University honored 95-year-old Hazel Greenwood Douglas prior to Saturday’s win over Southern as the oldest living Lady Tiger basketball player. After playing for Webster High School in Minden, Douglas enrolled at Louisiana Negro Normal and Industrial Institute (now GSU) is\n 1936 and played guard under coach Osiah Johnson, and later his wife, Fidelia Johnson, daughter of the founder of the institution, from 1936-39.
