GRAMBLING — Sometimes things don’t go as planned.

And sometimes that’s for the best.

That’s the way the ball bounced — literally — for the Lady Tigers Saturday as Grambling State University took its first Southwestern Athletic Conference win of the season by defeating rival Southern 57-56.

Trailing by one with less than 10 seconds remaining, Lady Tigers coach Nadine Domond called a timeout to set up a play.

And the last second heroics were provided by GSU’s top two scorers in the game —Monisha Neal and Bre’Nae Andrews — even if things didn’t go according to plan.
