$15m in savings expected

Ruston electric utility customers stand to save as much as $15 million in energy costs over the next five years thanks to the terms of a new power supply contract approved Monday night by the Board of Aldermen.

Customers should begin seeing a slight drop in their monthly utility bills with the July 2015 billing cycle.

Light and Power Operations Manager Darrell Caraway called the Constellation Energy Resources proposal “a very, very, very good offer.” The $60-$80 million contract starts June 1.
