School board discusses truancy funding

The Lincoln Parish School Board defended itself once again Tuesday night over an alleged discrepancy in a transaction made between the board and the 3rd Judicial District Attorney’s Office.

On Sept. 26, an invoice was made from the LPSB to the DA’s office for services rendered by the Truancy Assessment Service Center — a special program overseen by the DA.

Funding for TASC normally comes from the state — specifically the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement — however, for the past several months the state has failed to reimburse grant monies to the DA’s office.
