Rice situation sheds light on domestic violence

Residents in Lincoln Parish are working to ensure that football players trained at local universities make headlines for the right reasons as they continue their athletic careers.
Recently, former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice has received a great deal of media attention because of a video that shows his alleged assault on the woman who would eventually become his wife.

Louisiana Tech Athletics Director Tommy McClelland said he believes it’s “imperative” to help his student athletes — both men and women — understand domestic violence.
