When purchasing items, many have heard people say always buy products that are made in the United States, and while this may seem hard at times, two local residents opened a shop in downtown Ruston for this purpose.

Cassidy Kyme and Jake Dugard held an opening reception for Makers Union recently. The shop features pieces made by both Kyme and Dugard, as well as other items that are made in the U.S.

“We’ve both always worked with our hands and we’ve always wanted to collaborate that work,” Kyme said. “It has always been a dream of ours.”
