City giving to Head Start is a good thing

Local agencies have incurred so many state and federal fund cuts over the past few years that one more whack from the budget ax would hardly seems to be news anymore. But the restoration of funds, especially when the money is an outright gift, is another matter altogether.

Last week, Ruston’s Board of Aldermen agreed to give Lincoln Total Community Action’s Head Start program an additional $10,000 for the current fiscal year. Aldermen also agreed to give the Louisiana Military Museum a year’s worth of free city utilities.
