The Public Works Committee of the Lincoln Parish Police Jury met in the Police Jury Meeting Room, Third Floor, Lincoln Parish Courthouse, September 10, 2013, at 6:30 p.m. Present were: Randy Roberson, Chair; Theresa Wyatt, Bobby Bennett, David Hammons, Joe Henderson, and Skip Russell.
ABSENT: None
Randy Roberson called the meeting to order and delivered the invocation.
Joe Henderson offered a motion, seconded by Bobby Bennett, to approve the Agenda. There being no public comment, the motion was voted upon and carried with the following votes:
YEAS: Wyatt, Bennett, Roberson, Hammons, Henderson, and Russell
NAYS: None
ABSENT: None
The first item on the Agenda was to consider the re-submittal of a preliminary plat for the C. J. Underwood Mobile Home Development on Pleasant Grove Road. Parish Administrator, Courtney Hall, reported that the preliminary plat was in substantial compliance with current Police Jury requirements with the following exceptions: lack of appropriate approval signatures; private road name change; and addition of private road disclaimer on plat. After discussion, Bobby Bennett offered a motion, seconded by Theresa Wyatt, to approve the plat subject to completion of the necessary corrections. There being no public comment, the motion was voted upon and carried with the following votes:
YEAS: Wyatt, Bennett, Roberson, Hammons, Henderson, and Russell
NAYS: None
ABSENT: None
Theresa Wyatt offered a motion, seconded by Skip Russell, to authorize the purchase of a Kubota mowing tractor on state contract. There being no public comment, the motion was voted upon and carried with the following votes:
YEAS: Wyatt, Bennett, Roberson, Hammons, Henderson, and Russell
NAYS: None
ABSENT: None
Joe Henderson offered a motion, seconded by Bobby Bennett, to authorize the purchase of a 2013 Dodge Ram 3500 pick up truck on state contract. There being no public comment, the motion was voted upon and carried with the following votes:
YEAS: Wyatt, Bennett, Roberson, Hammons, Henderson, and Russell
NAYS: None
ABSENT: None
Under other business, Mr. Hall discussed a letter received from several residents concerning poor drainage along Louisiana Highway 3061. Because this is a state highway the Police Jury has no jurisdiction in the matter and Mr. Hall would respond accordingly. Jerry Doss, Highway Superintendent, reported that the 2013 chip seal program had been completed. There being no other business to come before the Committee, the meeting was adjourned.
