As I prepare for various domestic violence presentations around our community this month, I am discovering new and appalling information about the extent and the impact of domestic violence upon women, children and families.

One piece of information I found relates to the frequency and severity of domestic violence injuries to women in our country. A Majority Report of the Office of the Senate stated that domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women ages 15-44 in the United States — more than car accidents, muggings and rapes combined.
