Ninth annual DART pumpkin sale begins

Leader photo by JESSICA DARDEN- Members of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority from Louisiana Tech University, along with fraternity members and teens from the Boys and Girls Clubs of North Central Louisiana were on hand Monday at Townsend House Gifts to unload pumpkins for the Pumpkin Patch.

The ninth annual Pumpkin Patch has arrived in Ruston.

Members of local sororities, fraternities and the Boys and Girls Club of North Central Louisiana were on hand to help unload an 18-wheeler full of pumpkins.

Proceeds from the Pumpkin Patch go to benefit the Domestic Abuse Resistance Team.

“This is one of the biggest volunteer events of the year,” said DART Community Advocate Terrie Queen Autrey. “It is also one of the most fun events. Student organizations, sororities, fraternities and athletic teams from both Louisiana Tech and Grambling came to help out.
