Grambling OKs 5 percent pay cut

Mayor, aldermen also take hit to fix general fund budget deficit

The City of Grambling Board of Aldermen met in regular session to discuss the approval of temporarily reducing the salary of city employees, among other business.

Mayor Edward Jones said the reduction would be for 5 percent and the reason behind it is to fix a deficit.

When the City of Grambling was audited in 2012, the state of Louisiana found the city to be in good standing in two of their three accounts, but having a $635,000 deficit for the general fund.
