Two injured in head-on crash

Two drivers were transported to Northern Louisiana Medical Center Wednesday following a late morning crash that blocked traffic from traveling in either direction on California Avenue (La. Highway 80) near the intersection with Kathryn Street. The driver of a Saturn Aura (car on side of the road at right) was traveling eastbound when it collided head on in the middle of the avenue with a westbound Mazda3 (car on road at left). Traffic was blocked both directions for about an hour before the wreckage was cleared.
